A fine Spode Copeland cabinet plate with raised pencil gilding of swags and scrolls
on a speckled royal blue ground. The finely hand painted floral rondel is signed A Ball;
the only reference to a painter of this name and period is Mrs Ball who is not given a first
name or initial - see Vega Wilkinson's Spode-Copeland-Spode page 140, plate 78. See picture
for maker's mark and pattern R9560; impressed 25 for potting year 1925; diameter 10.5"; pristine condition.
