A very interesting and extremely rare transitional Victorian Aboriginal leangle club with traditional carved carved bee hive knob. Made with rudimentary metal tools from a piece of heavy local hardwood in the traditional style of the area. A well balanced weapon that is quite thick at the club end. Collected at Murndul Station near Hamilton, Victoria in the late 1800's and most likely made on or near the property. The owners of the property had a long history of philanthropy with the local Aboriginal people. Previously on display at a regional Museum in South Western Victoria. Full provenance will be given to the purchaser. Original condition with trace of applied natural pigment and some age wear from handling. Measures 60 cm long.
