Description: This is a very attractive, early 20th Century, dark oak finished carved oak Flemish inspired writing table desk having a classic kneehole section to the centre. The desk has bobbin turned legs with scrolled carving work, retaining its original handles, standing on bobbin turned feet, rising over which is a carved "H" stretcher with scrollwork and carved decorations to the legs with bobbin turnings over. Above this are the four drawers with two long over two short drawers, with decorative carved scrollworks to the drawer fronts with spandrels surrounding, having carved decorations to the drawers, surmounted by a solid oak carved top with a carved scrolling border, and original brass handles. The drawers have solid oak drawer linings with hand-cut dovetail joints. Date: The desk dates circa 1920s.
Condition: The desk is in good condition with minor distress work to leading edges, consistent with age and use.
