Ford Fluted Gilded Floral Trio

Description: Without so much as a surface scratch, this Charles Ford trio was made at their Cannon St. works in Hanley, Staffordshire and carries his 1874 impressed backmark.

Condition: Excellent - free from chips, cracks and crazing. The pattern is in superb condition and the trim gilding is as new, with no wear evident. A super trio in top condition.

Size: Square fluted Cup: 5.7cms tall and 8cms across. Saucer: 14cms across. Side plate: 18.5cms in diameter.

Decor: Hand painted over transfer ware, with bold coloured, long stemmed flowers, accompanied by broad leafage. Gilded stems are spread throughout. All this is on a ripple edged, twist fluted background.

Thick gilding around the trim of each piece completes the decor. The square rimmed cup, with its twisted sides and gilded pattern right into the base of the cup is a definite highlight.

A superb trio, around 135 years old and in excellent condition.
