 | | | Up for auction is my 2001 Ford KA. Please note, I want this car to go to a very good home and be cared for well. This KA was won by my Mother at the end of 2001 from the Take 5 Magazine, (yes, real people do win the cars in those magazines) and she took delivery of it at the start of January 2002. My Mother clocked up just under 8000 kilometres up to August 2007, when she passed away. I inherited it and drove it adding the rest of the kilometres. It has only 44776 kilometres, which is very low for the age of the car. Now in February 2009, an uninsured motorcyclist decided to pull straight out in front of me and I was unable to avoid him and we collided. The impact was at less that 20km/h, but did some damage to the right hand front guard and bar, and some rippling of the rhf door, from his boots. The damage is not alot and did not smash the headlight or even deploy the Airbags. I had 3rd Party Property Damage and the insurance company would not pay up because fault could not be determined because of a dodgy witness for the Motorcyclist, who claimed it was my fault and I had no witness. The Police could not determine fault and left it to the Insurance company to work it out. What happened from there was I got a quote to repair and the Insurance Company wrote it off and so the registration was cancelled in April 2009. It is a repairable write off and needs to be repaired and inspected to be able to be reregistered. The KA is in very good condition for the age of it. The faults besides the accident damage is the Power Steering leaks (common factory KA problem), Electric Fuel Pump not working from lack of use (common KA problem), Bonnet release lever broken, by dumb Insurance Assessor, dirty marks on passenger door trim, should clean up and some paint fading on roof. This KA is all factory original, including the battery, even after 8 years. It also has Power Steering, Air Conditioning, 5 Speed Manual, factory front carpet mats and had Rust Proofing when it was won. I even have a full set of factory mudflaps in the packets to go along with it and also adapters so you can put an aftermarket CD player in too. The engine cannot be started because of the fuel pump not working, but I can guarantee the engine is perfect, as well as the gearbox. I know the history of this KA and will without question, stand by my description of it. This little KA has not been abused or misused and is a tight low KLM vehicle with a great handling chassis and is very economical. It has its owners manual as well. Any questions just ask. I have a picture of my mother with the KA when she won it too as proof of her ownership and it being a prize from the Magazine. Thanks for looking. Please take note: Do not bid, I repeat, Do not bid if you cannot agree to my terms. Contact within 2 days and payment in 5 days. If you cannot adhere to the terms, Do not bid. I will not suffer people stuffing me around. There is nothing wrong with the way it drives or handles. The damage is more or less cosmetic, as it was not a very big impact.
