This listing is for an original older Ford "METEOR" black badge, of EITHER UK OR Australian manufacture. It is made of plastic and was originally mounted with double sided adhesive tape. It is about 9 1/4" long and about 3/16" thick.

A kind ebayer advised "If it would help you I can identify this as not English, (I don't think this model METEOR went to UK,)-maybe into South Africa, but is of Ford AUSTRALIA design origin. It possibly isn't rare in that it could have simply missed out on the chrome top layer,(factory reject) OR, was deliberately left black for a variation color scheme to match paintwork? but I can't say I have seen it here in Oz. Chromed examples could be rubbed back, ( as seen after years of polishing?) As far as I am aware, FORD badged their version of Mazda 1982 "notchback" 323, as METEOR in Australia ONLY, but in New Zealand as LASER and into Canada badged as (?) - maybe your black badge.?? ..........James, The MeteorMan in Melbourne, Oz."

Another kind ebayer has advised that it is from around 1982 to 1985 and that this model, badged as a "Meteor" model in Australia was badged as an "Escort" in England and had the pushrod Cortina engine.

The badge appears to be original and remains in excellent condition in all respects. I very much doubt this example ever had a chrome finish.
