GAZETTE du BON TON

On offer is a folio of 4 croquis (sketches) by Bagge & Huquet.  These sketches were for art deco boudoir furniture, published in Paris 1920, issue 10 of the Gazette du Bon Ton.  They show the typical elegant lines of the art deco style.  The plates are numbered XLV to XLVIII and is a complete set without folio cover.

Original art deco lithograph pochoir, image size: various,  paper size: 190x245.  Very good condition, no creases, folds, rips or tears, very good colour, clean, loose, age toned as is usual, no holes or library stamps. 

No hidden reserve price, expect to pay in excess of US$100 for each individual plate, if found. 

Note: Some 'Gazette du Bon Ton' magazines were published as 'Gazette du Bon Genre', this was because the Paris publisher was not permitted to sell magazines with the title 'Gazette du Bon Ton' in America due to legal constraints. There is a note to this effect on the inside cover of 'Gazette du Bon Genre' issue 1 February 1920. Consequently some plates are correct and some bear the results of having the title 'Gazette du Bon Ton' blocked, smudged or erased in the bottom left hand corner of the plate.
