This Genuine Antique Persian Gerus Kurd Village Hand Knotted Pile Rug is in Extremely Good Condition for its Age and Has a Hand Spun Wool Pile Tightly Symmetrically Hand Knotted to Cotton Warps and Wefts with Every Second Warp Thread Seen on the Back. It Displays Angular Flower and Leaf Motifs on a Field of Rich, Excellent Indigo Blue which is Surrounded by Borders of Flower Design. The Vegetable Dyed Colours, Tight Weaving Style, Superb Local Hand Spun Wool in the Pile and Impressive, Extremely Well Balanced Design Format are Obvious Proof of a Gerus Kurd Origin in a Village Situation among Kurdish People Living in the Far North of the Hamadan Region, East of Sanandaj and South of Bijar Over the Period 1910 to 1930.
This Superb Example of Antique Gerus Kurd Weaving is 1.6m x 1.15m (5ft 3 inches x 3ft 9.2 inch), has Just Been Hand Washed, Is in Extremely Good Condition for its Age and is Ready for Use on the Floor Anywhere in the House where It will Last For Many, Many Years. There are only Minor Signs of its Over 80 Years of Age at the warp ends and selvedges and Rugs of this Quality and Condition from this Region and Era a Very Difficult to Find. See Photos.

This is a Genuine Antique Persian Gerus Kurd Pile Rug Hand Knotted in a Village Situation in the North West of Iran over the Period 1910 to 1930. I have been collecting and dealing in Antique Oriental Rugs for over 25 years, wrote a book which was published in Australia in 1991 by Kangaroo Press, entitled A Guide to Oriental Rugs, ISBN number is 0-86417-375-X, and this book can be found in many Australian libraries.
