On offer here is this beautiful, early 19th., century German 12 lothige silver pedestal basin with twin scroll handles.
This very handsome piece of German silver is of classic design with a rectangular stepped base from which rises
a squat, pedestal stem supporting a deeply fluted bowl with cast, foliate border and applied a pair of 'C' scroll handles.
Marked to the rim of the foot: '12' denoting silver purity of 12 Lothige and with the makers mark adjacent of: 'I.H.R.'
Silver weight is a substantive 318 grams ( 10.22 troy ounces ).
