GLORIA PETYARRE, Highly Collectable Aboriginal Art

                   Gloria was born in 1945 at Atnangkere Soakage Northern Territory.In the 1970s'Gloria Petyarre was a founding member of the Utopia Women's Batik Group.She merged the traditional iconography of the Anmatyerre onto the new medium of silk.A very innovated and dynamic artist,She exerted a great influence on others in the group.In the early 1980s,Gloria made her
 first painting on canvas.(For C.A.A.M.A,s Summer Project Exhibition) In 1990 she traveled to Ireland,London and India as a representative of the Utopia women,accompanying the 'Utopia:A picture story' Exhibition,Tandanya,Adelaide.The Royal Hibernian Academy,Dublin,Ireland. In 1991 she had her first solo exhibition at Utopia Art in Sydney. In 1995/96,Gloria received a full Fellowship Grant from the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Board of the Australia Council.
                   This painting is titled,Bush Medicine Leaves, and is one for the collector,Investor or anyone who appreciates fine quality art. The colors in this piece is just stunning and the flowing movement is beautiful.
