Georgian Revival Mahogany Marble Table Washstand

Description:
This is a very nice quality Georgian Revival, late 19th to early 20th Century Victorian Edwardian mahogany inlaid marble topped washstand with matched inlaid and marble splash back.  The washstand stands on its original brass castors rising above which are the square taper and boxwood strung legs, having two beautiful boxwood strung doors with ebony inlays and boxwood and chequer stringing.  The washstand has a centre panel with matched boxwood and ebony inlays, flanked by plain pilasters with boxwood stringing, with boxwood and ebony strung side panels in solid mahogany.  Rising above is the grey and white flecked marble with raised matched inlaid gallery back with an inset matched grey white marble panel having a single inlaid shelf and flared crest piece.  The washstand retains its original finish and original handles to the base.  Behind each door is a single cupboard.  The grey marble top is a shade or two darker than the white / grey marble in the back panel.  A beautiful piece of Georgian Revival furniture.

Date:
The washstand dates circa 1900.

Condition:
The washstand is in good general condition, retaining its original finish.  There is one small veneer chip repair on the centre panel and one small replacement piece of moulding on the underside of the top moulding which supports the marble.  There is one old repair to the marble (see photo), having an old crack running approximately 40% through the width of the marble, this having been repaired on the underside.  A lovely washstand with wonderful character.
