DESCRIPTION

Victorian German Bisque Porcelain Conta & Boehme Piano Baby in High Chair Trinket Box.  This is a darling example of C&B's piano baby in a high chair. She is wearing a white dress with a red floral design. Her bib is dark blue and she has dark hair, rosy cheeks and lips. There is a plate of food and a spoon on the chair's table. The baby is fast asleep. This baby is listed in the Vogel's book, Conta & Boehme Porcelain on page 245, view 22b. It is also shown in the Vogel's book, Victorian Trinket Boxes on page 30, Plate 20b. Marked with incised #246 and a painter's mark of #79 on the bottom of the base. Measures 3-1/2 inches tall.

CONDITION

Good Condition: A small chip is on the child's plate. The high chair's back is missing, but has been restored so it doesn't look bad at all. Tiny chip on the lid's rim that's not noticeable when the lid is on. Firing crack inside the base that's tight and probably happened during the firing process. Your eyes may be better than mine, but I do try to describe to the best of my ability because I am not an expert on antiques

ALL SALES ARE FINAL unless the item arrives damaged, I will help you file the correct refund papers and I can send pictures if needed. I've found that it's easier for the buyer to make the claim at his/her post office. I BLUE LINE items to tell if the same item I sold is the item returned. The blue line is invisible and does not harm the item in any way. I've been scammed before so I've had to resort to this. Sorry
