Tube amps sound awesome when cranked and the tubes are glowing. However, tube amps that have linear volume controls get loud very quickly (with the volume on just 1 or 2) and usually results in getting unwanted attention from loved ones, neighbours and local law enforcement. I wish I had a dollar for all the times someone told me to "turn it down".

Glow Baby resolves loudness issues and "touch-sensitive" linear volume pot taper.

Logarithmic taper (or audio taper) is much smoother and natural sounding to the human ear and the Glow Baby will always provide a steady audio/log taper that allows you to make finer adjustments and dial in just the right amount of volume.

Glow Baby works great live in small venues and its perfect if you live in a small unit and need to practice late at night.

Simply connect the Glow baby through your amp's effects loop.

Run one guitar cable between the amp's Send or Preamp Out into the Glow Baby Input and the other cable from the Glow Baby Output to the amp's Return or Power Amp In. (If you are running effects through your effects loop, just put Glow Baby last in the chain). Turn the volume on the Glow Baby right down and your amp volume up - most tubes start to glow nice and bright at around 4 and above.

Hey Chris,

The master volume on my Vox AC30 amp seems to be linear too, forcing me to back off on the pre-amp to play at a reasonable home volume.. I haven't gigged in a while but I imagine it being handy at small venues (or if I ever do a garage show again).

I have been looking for an attenuator, but everything I see is into the hundreds, and I couldn't justify spending that .. this little thing is brilliant, for $40 my main problem with recording at home is solved..

I have a Tascam 8-track Portastudio in my guitar room and it's just always annoyed me that I have to "keep it down" and can never get the same tones as when I make it out to a rehearsal studio or something and can crank it and record - Glow Baby has solved the "keep it down" problems.
