Simply gorgeous "Danish Made" Coffee Table that is sleek, sexy and top quality in every way. When it comes to vintage furniture, especially coffee tables, the Danes set the trends in the 60s. This coffee table is a beautifully constructed piece, almost sculptural in its simplicity, with nicely figured Teak top, sculptured edgings, solid yet slim frame & legs. Very sleek, very sexy and nice size at 1500mm long. It almost looks fragile as if it will float at a gust of wind. Yet, when moved about, the item is very solid, moderately heavy and certainly no "wobbles" or veneers peeling off. Truly a feat of craftsmanship and precision furniture making. There are very few locally made coffee tables that have these qualities. Their metal stamps of quality mean what they say!
This would really suit a contemporary home or Danish/Retro setting with a larger area. Certainly one of the most stylish example of Mid-Century/Vintage design that has stood the test of time. I wish we can also take this one home but were already stuffed with a lot of furniture!
Condition now is about 8.5 /10 as there are a number of very minor scratches, bruises & marks but still top condition for vintage furniture. Should last another 40+ years with care. Why spend money on furniture (up to $1000+ on current plastic/glass/metal models) that would be worth less in just a few years when you can invest in quality upcoming Antiques like this item! Definitely an eBay bargain price - just check out Freedom Furniture & Harvey Norman or even a boutique vintage store, it's a real eye opener on what you get for your $$$!
