Totally unique "Danish Style" Sideboard made in the UK by A. H. McIntosh of Kirkcaldy and imported into this country recently. A. H McIntosh were known to have many Danish designers work on their furniture and it certainly shows. Top quality construction and gorgeous design has produced a piece that is excellent value for money. The Teak and Mahogany veneering, solid Teak "Moon" handles, sculpted apron and feet, hidden brass hinges, divided cutlery tray, hidden drinks tray and liquor cabinet and large shelving, points to a sideboard that is crafted above the ordinary. Quality such as this is exceeds most of the local sideboards in this category and as good as the Danish sideboards in the boutique shops.
This design would compliment any modernist setting and probably enhance whatever you already have. Difficult to find an item so easy on the eye yet stylish in every sense. This sideboard offers heaps of space as well as a sleek lowline look that just oozes style. Beautiful handles of solid Teak as well magnificent Teak veneering, especially in the front with prominent, bookmarked figuring and with rich Mahogany veneering inside, epitomizes the "Danish" style so prevalent in middle of the last century. Beautiful dark honey color that will compliment wooden floorboards or tiles. Rare to find them in this very good condition too. A classic danish/retro beauty that is almost impossible to find in this country unless you know of English immigrants with this sort of furniture that is downsizing.
Plenty of storage space as one can see from cupboards and solidly built drawers. Cleaned, oiled, & buffed it is now ready to do service. Being used furniture, they have the usual bumps, bruises and marks, however, this item is in very good vintage condition both aesthetically & structurally. Condition is about a 8/10 considering it's as about 35-40 y.o. These sideboards were made to last 2-3 lifetimes versus some of the cheaper ones on the market. Certainly no missing veneers at the back corners. Perfect compact size for just about any living room.
Why spend money on furniture that would be worthless in just a few years when you can invest in quality upcoming Antiques like this item! They are becoming very popular with Modern Antique fanciers.
