General Overview
Willow started out as the gorgeous "Naomi" sculpt by the talented Australian artist Naomi Johnson. Willow has been painted with great care using quality Genesis Heat Set Paints and many layers have been painted on her to create her soft living skin. All of her little creases have been blushed and highlighted, and every part of her body has been given the greatest of attention.
Hair, Eyes, Nose & Mouth & Skin
I have used the technique of painted and micro-rooted hair on Willow which gives the impression of fine baby hair. The mohair has also been sealed on the inside, so her hair can now be lightly sprayed with water and styled to your liking. Her eyebrows are a soft, delicate style which frame her eyes beautifully. Willow's eyelashes have been micro-rooted in the same mohair as used for her hair. Willow has two magnets in her head to hold the gorgeous crocheted magentic pacifier on her little mouth and another which holds her hair accessory in place. Her lips have been sealed with a gloss varnish for a soft natural look. Her skin has a living translucent effect with slight mottling and subtle blushing all over her limbs and face. Willow's nose has been carefully opened and backed with dark brown felt to create depth. Willow has a soft strawberries and cream complexion with a smooth finish.
Weighting, Limbs & Body
Willow's preemie body has been realistically weighted with glass granules, poly pellets and polyfill which have all been safely sealed in their own pouches. The limbs have been sealed to prevent glass beads from escaping. Her head needs to be held as it is also weighted, just like a real baby. She is very soft and cuddly and has a new jointed doe-suede body just to suit her. Her nails have been given a delicate manicure and have been sealed with gloss varnish for a fresh look. She also has a tummy/chest plate for posing. Willow is truly a gorgeous little baby girl.
