Welcome!
Thanks for coming into my store.
Today, I have a just gorgeous antique reproduction of the Bru Jn 13.
This lovely doll is on a wonderful cloth and bisque body, made with
rivetted buttons, at the elbows and knees, which make her easy to pose,
either standing or sitting.
She has amazing inset olive green eyes, and eyelashes that are to die for.
The painting on her face is wonderful, with beautiful feathered eyebrows,
smooth evenly painted cheeks, and a characteristic Bru rosebud pouty mouth.
Her wig is lovely on her, a dark auburn color, but without a tag.
She is wearing a vintage antique violet velvet dress with matching
handcrafted violet straw and antique lavender lace hat.
The dress is trimmed in lavender satin ribbons and embellished with
antique ecru lace around the collar, the hem, and the wrists, and
lovely silk lavender rosebuds, also picked up on the hat.
This antique lace looks lavender in some lights, but ecru, in others.
The collar is beautifully fashioned with the same antique ecru lace.
There are lavender ribbons laced through the lace, at the wrists and elbows,
for easy fit of the mutton leg sleeves, and a matching bow at the neckline.
The dress is fully lined and made with French seams. The ribbon belt is made of
lavender and violet ribbons ornamented with lavender rosebuds.
It is cinched in to the tightest point on the doll's waist.
The bonnet is on a base of violet straw, embellished
with pleated antique lavender Venise lace around the brim,
which is wired to allow you to shape it, and lined in silver satin,
with a large bow in back.
There is a cluster of embellishment in the center, comprised of lavender rosebuds,
plum silk sweetheart roses that appear to be dried roses, and
a lavender ribbon rose, made from wired ribbon,
so you can easily position it and make it look they way you like.
There is also a regal purple ostrich feather that can be placed as you please (and
which I forgot in the first pics, but which can be seen in the last one).
Her underwear is a combination onsie type,
with lots of tucks and lace, nicely tailored.
I couldn't find any breaks, repairs, or cracks of any kind.
She is signed by artist Susan Dunham, and dated 1996.
The doll is incised on the back of the neck with BRU Jn 13.
I accept Paypal.
Shipping is flat rate $25.00, because of extra care due to her size and weight
