This must be one of the grandest and top notch examples you will come by.The highly decorative stand is beautifully pierced or reticulated standing on three feet. The central column is again most decorative finishing with a heart shaped handle.The five egg cups are superb each with a gilded interior and beautiful pierced wide rims. The five eggs spoons have a reticulated end to complete the picture.The underside of the stand shows the piece was made by top notch silversmith Mappin and Webb; the spoons are all marked J R & S, I think for John Round, it is not unusual for the spoons to be a different maker to the stand.A really spectacular piece for those looking for heirloom quality. Dating to around 1880, the entire piece remains in excellent condition. The stand has a diameter measuring 7" and measures 9" tall to top of handle.
