H.H. Scott/Quad/Leak/other tuner alignment only

We will align any H.H. Scott, Quad, or Leak tuner to factory settings, or any other tuner (including especially the Sony ES series) if you can provide the service manual. This alignment-only service uses our Bruel & Kjaer, Sound Technology, and Tektronix test equipment to accurately perform:

• IF alignment to 10.7MHz +/- 300Khz, or other centre frequency as required
• RF alignment so stations are placed accurately on the dial
• Discriminator alignment to minimize distortion
• Stereo decoder alignment to maximize channel separation (minimize cross-talk)
• Check frequency response and distortion figures

We also align Quad, H.H. Scott, and Leak FM multiplex adapters. We can also revise the de-emphasis networks if necessary to adjust for 75us or 50us time constant as required. 75us is the North American standard, most of the rest of the world uses 50us. A tuner adjusted for North America will sound over-bright in the rest of the world; a rest-of-world tuner will sound dull in North America. The remarkable H.H. Scott tuners and MPX decoders rarely require any form of service other than new valves, very occasional realignment, and de-emphasis changes. We have solved the undocumented mysteries of changing the de-emphasis on H.H. Scott FM tuners and multiplex decoders.
