Legend tells us that a cocoon accidentally dropped into a cup of tea that a Chinese princess was having in her garden. The hot liquid softened and loosened the fibre, which the princess pulled and drew away from the cocoon as a continuous strand.

Silk is the very fine strand of fibre that is a solidified protein secretion produced by certain caterpillars to encase themselves in the form of cocoons.

These cocoons can be teased out to make them suitable for hand spinning or using in other silk fibre crafts.

I have clouded out a couple of cocoons to show off our wonderful they are for using in mixed media crafts.

I have listed in my store cocoons dyed in other colours or undyed cocoons that you can dye your own colours.

Australian Postage is $3.95 for one lot only other wise I can send up to 500 grams for $6.95

OVERSEAS Postage is $6.95 for one lot or I can send up to 200 grams for $13
