This is a huge cast metal hallstand for hat, coat and umbrella. Its dimensions are 1850 high x 680 wide x 340 deep at the base. There appears to be two kangaroos at the top. Condition is excellent with no broken bits, although, the paint is chipped and flaked in a few places. It could probably do with a repaint, but I would prefer to leave that to you, the new owners, to do it in a colour of your choice. The lady who owned it before me, told me that she got it about 20 years ago from an elderly man who lived in a very old house in Spring Hill (Spring Hill is one of Brisbane's oldest suburbs). Whilst it is very heavy, I do not think it is heavy enough to be cast iron, rather I think it is some sort of cast alloy. There are two lift out pots in the base to allow water from umbrellas to be collected and emptied. This item is too large for our present house, so we are reluctantly parting with it.
