HENRI MATISSE 1859-1954
This beautiful image was created by Matisse during the period 1941-1948. It was the result of collaboration with the publisher Albert Skira who wanted Matisse to produce a series of lithographs as illustrations for The Love Poems of Ronsard. Whilst Matisse created an outstanding collection of images they bear little relationship to the poems. Rather they show the brilliance of Matisse as a Master of Line Drawings. They were published loose as a portfolio in an edition of 300. Printed in sepia on cream Arches like paper. Blank verso, in excellent unmarked condition.
A copy of the Justification De Tirage (Edition Statement) will be provided.
Sheet Size: 8 3/4" x 11 1/4" (22.5cms x 28.5cms)
Note: The watermark of my id logo is not on the actual image.
