ORIGINAL 19TH CENTURY PRINTS TAKEN FROM

"THE GRAPHIC"

The Graphic was a quality British illustrated newspaper, first published on 4 December 1869.  In its first year, it described itself to advertisers as "a superior illustrated weekly newspaper…made expressley for the purpose and admirably adapted for the display of engravings ". It recruited some of the most prominent artists, making an immediate splash in 1869 with Houseless and Hungry, Luke Fildes' dramatic image of the shivering London poor seeking shelter in a workhouse. Genuine antique item - over 100 years old. Not a modern copy.

Suitable for home framing - treat yourself or give someone a unique gift.

All prints include the name "Graphic" and the date of publication in the top margin, although I don't always show this in the reproduction to the left.

PLEASE NOTE - related and non-relatated text on the reverse side may show through faintly in clear areas and margins. There may also be small defects in the margins, but these will not show when mounted and framed. More mention of this will be made in the description if the quality of the image is adversely affected.
