Narpula Scobie Napurrula is the younger sister of well known artist Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula (deceased) and was married to one the earliest Papunya artists Johnny Scobie Tjapanangka (deceased).

She was born and grew up around the Haast Bluff area, moving to Papunya during its early settlement in the early 1960s. Napurrula began painting for Papunya Tula Artists in the early 1980s, and was one of the first and few women at the time to do so.

Winner of the prestigious Australian National Aboriginal &  Torres Strait Islander Telstra Award (1st Prize) in 2001
