A quick word about Paypal ,Ebay owns Paypal, paypal profits become ebay profits. ebay pays taxes in Switzerland and USA it does not pay even Oz GST. Ebay makes a profit from Australia should it pay OZ taxes like other Australian companies? Is paypal a pal for Australians?

  Paypal is NOT adjusted for Australian post nor for our banking system. So apart from 3%  paypal fee, online trackable insured transport is required this is available but at a large cost. Also Paypal does not verify Australian buyers bank or credit cards to ebay postal address so seller never knows if posting to account "debited " holders address. This makes it easy to "PAY " with paypal for items with stolen details. This translates to about 3% extra fraud that paypal use costs, ie now $60 in $1000. Plus paypal funds always takes  from 5 to 61 days to leave paypal account  as verified funds. So while PP ADVERTISES "BUYER" insurance it also requires transit insurance so buyer ends up paying for two lots of insurance.

That $60 per $1000 PLUS time cost of money PLUS double insurance PLUS online trackable transport is where difference in post costs are.
