TECHNOLOGY
TopScan Ltd. has developed a proprietary technology that combines unique image processing algorithms with advanced electro-optics. The company has filed international patents that address the issue of data/text collection using a totally unconventional method - asynchronous scanning.

In contrast, TopScan's solution utilizes patented image processing algorithms and therefore requires no moving parts. TopScan products are the only handheld scanners with a unique transparent tip. The result is a wide and clear view of the text being scanned.
What's Your Angle?
Different people hold their pens in different wrist angles or tilts of the pen. Our electro-optics team has engineered a solution that enables the user to scan naturally and comfortably at any angle -- much like writing with a regular pen.
Horizontal and Vertical Hand Motion
Wheel-based pen scanners are restricted to a horizontal scanning direction along the line of text. TopScan's transparent tip has no moving parts that need to grip the paper. This wheel-less solution enables image processing to occur along both the x-and y-axis paving the path for future developments of mouse and digital pen functionalities.
Data/Text Entry at 1200 Words Per Minute
Data/text entry is our default application. Using advanced OCR software, our products can capture and copy rows of text and send the data directly into any Windows application or PDA in a digital (ASCII) editable format.
Regular highlighters only highlight the text that one marks. The highlighted text then needs to be retrieved, copied, retyped or to be physically stored somewhere. ScanMarkerTM can copy the marked text directly into the PC or digital device for further processing.
We facilitate your information retrieval while giving books and articles the respect they deserve by keeping them clean of yellow marks.
Text-to-Speech
Our products can incorporate just about any text-to-speech (TTS) engine. Students can now use our product to learn how to read and properly pronounce words. For dyslectic and vision impaired individuals, our solution serves as a power reading tool.
