Interesting Old Antique Cookbook

122 pages have recipes with Most pages having 2 recipes .

Cloth Bound it is in very good condition with remnants of food on some pages and some little foxing due to same

Its great fun to read. The handwriting is good quality cursive script most of which are in the handwriting of Mrs Bassett

Some are in the hand of other contributors

It dates from Around 1890 many of the recipes have acknowledgments of who gave the recipe One of them is dated 1893

It contains a wide variety of recipes several for Christmas pudding one dated Nov 24 1896 another for Household bread dated 1895

The locations of the recipes from Mavern, Abbotsford, Bairnsdale and Shepperton

Imply that Mrs Bassett was either well traveled (no cars back then ) and had a lot of friends or more likely that she met them all somewhere like the Royal Melbourne show and swapped recipes there .
