Henriksen Tweetey Acoustic Amp Guitar Tweeter JazzAmp

A brand new, in the box Tweetey from Henriksen JazzAmps.  This is a passive guitar tweeter that can be added to an amp to add a lot of high harmonic content (all the shimmer and sparkle) so it can be used for acoustic instruments.  It's a great idea and a lot cheaper than buying a dedicated acoustic amp!  You can also put it on a mic stand a few feet away from the amp and get a 3D kinda sound. Very cool!

The Problem?

The desired tone for flattop and nylon string guitar players requires a speaker system that responds to higher frequency overtones so that the bright and crisp tones those guitars produce acoustically is properly reproduced. Standard guitar amplifiers do not typically reproduce those high frequency tones very well, and "acoustic" amplifiers typically sound too thin and weak for standard electric guitars. Musicians are left to find one amp that is a compromise in tone for both electric and acoustic guitar, or to spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars on a separate amp for their acoustic guitars.

The Solution...

Tweetey^TM is a simple, elegant solution which allows you to have a warm, rich sounding amplifier that will also bring out the brilliant highs of flattop acoustic guitars. Simply plug the Tweetey into the extension speaker jack on your amplifier, and you now have the extended range needed to properly amplify an acoustic instrument. The Tweetey has a built in crossover(@2.5kHz) and a level control knob. The Tweetey also has two parallel in/out jacks for daisy-chaining, and a microphone mount so you can place it anywhere in the room you need it, creating a great field effect which adds to the natural acoustic sound of your instrument. A Tweetey (or two!) mounted to a mic stand at ear level, 3 or 4 feet away from the amplifier creates a hi-fi sound experience that you will get lost in. It truly is a pleasure to hear.

When using the Tweetey with a JazzAmp, the tweeter and the crossover are designed to work with the 3 kHz and 10 kHz knobs on the JazzAmp equalizer. Many acoustic amps offer the ability to turn a tweeter on and off, or the ability to turn the tweeter volume up and down, but with a JazzAmp you can actually equalize the Tweetey to perfectly blend it with the sound of the amplifier.

I have coupled the unit with my Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue amp (modded with a Jensen Neo speaker) to very, very satisfying results with both my Taylor GC3 acoustic electric and both of my electric semi-hollow guitars. "The Tweetey has landed and I'm going to gig it tonight in a duet with a clarinetist. So far, from tests at home, using my D'Aquisto Jazzline, with both the JazzAmp head and my Acoustic Image Clarus head, the Tweetey sounds great. I'd say from initial reactions that I would never opt to go without it. At first it seems really subtle, like you aren't sure it's on, but when I disconnected it my Raezer's Edge (NY-8 and Stealth) cabs sounded dull and murky. Shipping

We ship on as a minimum on Mondays and Wednesdays (and often everyday!).   The vast majority of our customers receive their items within a week of purchase, so we are quick!
We ship via Registered Post (and courier for bigger items), insured for the full value of the item, so things don't go missing!  We can also ship via Express Post or Courier on request, and don't charge handling or packing fees.

Returns

We accept returns on faulty goods, and offer either exchange or money back.  We do not accept returns for change of mind or if the product doesn't suit you, BUT if you contact us beforehand we can almost always work something out regarding a trial (particularly on our bigger items).  We offer a week long trial on all new Guitars and Amplifiers, but you MUST contact us before buying have this approved.  If you just click Buy-It-Now, you've bought it!
