An extract from a rare tropical fruit may be the answer to the dieting problems of many overweight people. The rind of the exotic fruits of the Garcinia cambogia tree, more commonly known as Brindle Berry, contain a unique substance that may effectively curb the appetite, inhibit the production of fats and cholesterol and reduce food intake. It has been found to contain a fruit acid now named Hydroxycitric Acid or HCA. HCA has been shown to reduce food intake and body weight gain. HCA has undergone toxicity studies and has been found to be safe and perhaps even safer than citric acid.

 Brindle Berry is thought to be different in its action, in that it inhibits the production of fats from carbohydrates. Studies have shown that HCA may be effective in reducing fat production by 40 to 70 percent for up to twelve hours following a meal.

Its effectiveness in curbing the appetite and reducing food intake, as excess glucose is no longer being turned into fatty tissue, it remains stored as glycogen, the brain receives a message that energy reserves are full and so no more food needs to be taken in. Hunger pangs are effectively suppressed, and it is much easier to keep to a low calorie intake.

HCA does not act on the central nervous system, it does not have a stimulating effect, as some other dieting aids do. HCA does not appear to have any rebound weight gain effect either. Studies have shown that the rapid weight gain experienced by some when they discontinue a weight loss programme does not occur when they stop taking Brindle Berry extract. Nor does the body develop a tolerance to it that could render it ineffective.

Caution: Garcinia cambogia is generally safe for use by healthy individuals when taken in the recommended doses. If you have Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and other related diseases do not use this herb unless under strict supervision of your Medical Practitioner.. Pregnant or nursing women should consult with their physician before using this product. Safety in young children or those with severe liver or kidney disease is not known.

Dosage and preparation: Infusion: 1/2 teaspoon of the powdered/granulated herb added to a cup of boiling water, leave to infuse for at least 10 minutes. May also be encapsulated.  Drink 3 times daily.
