This beautiful cutlery set is in very good condition.
The back of the pieces are marked Heritage Plate GH and have a Reg Number of 859957 indicating the pattern was first issued in 1949. The knives are marked to the sides of the handles. The set is in the pattern Margaret Rose, as indicated on the box of sweets spoons. There is an advert in a Canberra Times newspaper dated 1954 for this lovely popluar pattern. Please see below.

The set includes 6 hollow handle dinner knives, 6 hollow handle entree knives, 6 dessert spoons, 6 soup spoons, 6 square shoulder entree forks , 6 square shoulder dinner forks, 6 teaspoons and 2 table spoons and two tiny spoons. There is a boxed set of fluted sweets spoons. There are some spares as well that will be included at no extra cost.
There are fine scratches from use but apart from one teaspoon there is no silver loss. Even the back of the fork tines have no silver loss. The one teaspoon has a circular silver plate loss to the bowl as if someone has left something corrosive in the spoon. This spoon is shown. The stainless steel blades are marked Heritage GH Sheffield. The blades have been cleverly sharpened and are very sharp. There are no sharpening marks to the flats of the blades.
The spares mentioned include an extra place setting minus a teaspoon and sweets spoon.
The set weighs around 3 kilos.
