Pick up only from You are very welcome to have a look at the computer (turned on & running & try it out) before bidding Just send me a message with what day & time suits you Then I will let you know my address The DVD drive/CD is FAULTY I am not sure what is wrong with it When you put a CD/DVD into the drive, it tries to work because the green light starts flashing, but when you click on the drive it doesn’t pick up the info on the disk (it shows that there is nothing on the disk, when there is) I uninstalled the driver for it (trouble shooter said to try this), then I restarted the computer When it restarted it picked up the drive again Then it worked with 3 different kinds of disks, and then it just went back to the way it was before, not working So I am not sure what has to be done to fix it I have reformatted the hard drive with the recovery disks, so now it is the same as when you first buy it in the shops (I have a portable CD/DVD drive I used, this is not included) If you want to reformat the hard drive again & if the CD/DVD drive isn’t still working then you just have to press F10 when the computer starts up Because there is a recovery partition on the hard drive, it is on D This auction is for a Hewlett Packard Compaq Presario desk top computer It comes with the Monitor with its cords, The Box (not sure what else to call this, its where the motherboard, CD/DVD drives, hard drive, etc is stored in) with the power cord, 2 speakers with the power cord, PS/2 Keyboard, PS/2 Optical Scroll Mouse & 2 Recovery Disks (I made these & burnt them when I first brought the computer, it was recommended to do that) & a DVD + R (I burnt this, I am not sure if it was on the computer) this is called PC User it explains how computers work The Operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 service pack 2 There is a sticker on the front of the box saying Windows Vista capable Information on everything The Monitor It is black It is approx 40.5 cm high, 40.5 cm wide (the widest part) & 42.5 cm long The Screen size is- 33cm wide & 25cm high (the glass part) The brand is Dell On the front it has a menu button & 4 screen adjustment buttons It comes with all the cords The Box It is Black & silver It has a couple of scratches on it It is approx 39 cm high, 40.5 cm long, 18 cm wide On the motherboard it has 2 free slots (I think they are to add more memory to it, they are towards the front of the box) & 3 other slots (I am not sure what goes into these, they are towards the back of the box) It comes with the power cord On the front of the box it has Light scribe Expansion bay (you can put another drive,etc into this) 3 USB ports Card readers- it can take---- SmartMedia/xD, MMC/SD, CompactFlash l/11 , Memory Stick/PRO 3 audio inputs --headphones, microphone, 1 audio line in FireWire (IEEE 1394) On the back of the box it has PS/2 connector for mouse PS/2 connector for keyboard Parallel port for printer Monitor port 4 USB ports Ethernet port FireWire (IEEE 1394) Digital audio out plug Microphone, audio out & in Phone line in The Processor is AMD Sempron Processor 3200+ (1.8GHz) with Hyper Transport Technology The Memory 512 MB PC3200 DDR The Hard drive 80 GB 7200 RPM Ultra DMA Optical Storage (faulty as written above) 16x DVD+R, 16x DVD-R,8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 8x DVD+R DL, 4x DVD-R DL, 5x DVD-RAM, 16x DVD-ROM, 40x CDR, 24x CDRW, 40x CDROM The Graphics Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200 HyperMemory Graphics with up to 256 MB of video memory The Modem 56K ITU v.90 modem Networking Integrated 10/100 Base-T Ethernet The Audio Integrated Realtek ALC658 digital audio Dolby 5.1 Surround sound ready The speakers (these are portable, not built in) They are Black They both Stand approx 19 cm high, 10 cm wide One of them has a Volume knob at the front & a Headphone port Power AC 6V/300mA They plug into power; the power cord comes with it The keyboard This has a few scratches on it It is Silver with black keys It is a Multimedia Easy access Internet keyboard The buttons are---connect, search, email, club Q,? Calculator, volume up & down & mute It has a PS/2 plug The mouse This has a few scratches on it It is Black & silver It is Optical It has 2 buttons & a scroll It has a PS/2 plug 2 Recovery disks These were made when I first brought the computer, I burnt them (that’s what was recommended by the computer) You use these disks when the computer first boots up, so you can repair or reformat the hard drive A DVD This is a DVD+R disk I cannot remember if this was on the computer It is a burnt disk It is called PC User, it has information about how computers work, motherboard, Ram etc Programs that are on the computer (they are preinstalled) User guides (it didn’t come with any books all the info on the computer is in there, I did notice that some things written in here are for a different computer model) HP Photosmart Premier, HP Photosmart Transfer Realplayer Sonic---- Digital Media Home, Express labeller, My DVD Plus Microsoft Encarta Standard 2006 Microsoft Works---- works calendar, works database, works portfolio, works spreadsheet, works task launcher, works word processor, windows address book Microsoft Money Norton internet security (not sure if you have to pay for this to work) Software repair wizard PC doctor There maybe more that I have missed Games that are on the computer (they are preinstalled) FreeCell, hearts, internet backgammon, internet checkers, internet hearts, internet reversi, internet spades, minesweeper, pinball, solitaire, spider solitaire There are 30 other games that they call HP games, I think these are demos, that you can play, then there is a link to buy the full version (didn’t really have a proper look at these) I am only selling this computer because my son & I brought laptops to save room If you win this auction could you please let me know what day & time suits you to pick up, then I will let you know if I will be home then & I will send you my address Could you please pay on pick up & bring the correct amount as I probably won’t have any change, thankyou |
