Collectors of antique Government Records and Publications take note. Up for auction are eight (8) editions of The Journal of the Soil Conservation Service of NSW, in good condition. . In order of issue are Volume 7, Number 2 April 1951, Volume 7, number 3 Juily 1951, Volume 8 Number 1, January 1952,, Volume 14 number 2, April 1958, Volume 15,Number 3, July 1959. Volume 15, Number 1, January 1959Volume 15, Number2,April 1959,Volume 16 Number 2, April 1960.

BACKGROUND: The Soil Conservation Service was a highly respected Government agency for over 50 years before it was merged with other Departments in the 1990s.  Its Research Stations and Extention Officers were of great assistance to the farming community and regional areas in their battle to stop soil erosion and manage pastures throughout the State of New South Wales. As part of this service, the  'Service started to issue Journals in April 1945.  This included articles on Soil Conservation,Pasture management, results of research and surveys of various regions around NSW.

The Journals would be a great addition to any Archives, Libraries and collectors of old publications and Government papers. Students studying the history of environmental management would find these publication a great addition to their studies of how environmental issues emerged in this State. All eight editions editions are sold as one job lot.
