I purchased this car last January 08/December 07 last year, and I have never had any problems with it. The car has been sitting in my backyard for over six months as the Distributor Coil needs replacing, and it won’t start until replaced. When I try start the car, It go’s to start, but just doesn’t have that final kick, to give it a start. Shortly after I was unable to start it, I had a Narre Warren mechanic come out to see what exactly, was wrong with it, to which I was told it was the Distributor Coil, or the Distributor and Coil. I was quoted $300- $400 to fix it + labor, but was told I could pick-up the part(s) second hand from a used car yard. I haven’t had the time to do so as I’m a full-time Uni student, and now I’m moving to the city as my rent contract, for this house is up in a few weeks, so I need to get the car out of it’s current sitting place in my back-yard, and I don’t know a whole lot about cars and car-mechanics. The Car is Currently Running on GAS & PETROL. If you intend on getting this car on the road, you will need to do some repairs on it, before you will get the car in a road-worthy condition. From what I know about what it needed, I can guarantee that the following will need to be replaced: You will need: (4) New or second-hand, road-worthy tires. A new Windscreen (Current one has a crack in it, and needs replacing) A new right-hand side, Indicator stick ($40 at Autobarn) And from what I was told, New shocks. (I was advised new shocks are between $30-$80 each) These are the things I know of, that will need replacing for a road worthy certificate; it’s best if you get a mechanic to come out, to tell you exactly what will need replacing. – To have a Good look over the entire car. Its best if you come view the car, and have a mechanic come look over the car, prior to bidding & prior winning the auction. The car was running fine prior to the Distributor Coil needing replacement; I’ve never had any issues with the car up until six months ago. You will need to give the car a service. The car is a Straight six (6), and has been lowered/ was lowered when I bought it, and has 4 original, 16” HSV Rims; the rear rim has been replaced with a normal tyre, as I got a puncher in it; the 4th rim is currently in the boot. The interior is in Great clean condition, and has never had smokers, smoke it in. All head-lights, brake-lights and indicators work fine. Has working Holden radio, but only one rear speaker The Gas tank is a 65 litre tank, and is in great condition. I believe the tank was placed/ the last test date was 1998, so you may have to get the tank retested and re-stamped. (Needs to be re-tested every 10 years) The Speedo show’s 126,187 km’s, I got the car when it had 108.xxx km’s up on it, but I’m unsure if the cable is still in place, recording further km’s as of six months ago. The body of the car is good; the left hand side does have a few little dints, not seeable, unless up fairly close, other then that, the rest of the car is fine. Car has two rather small rust spots on the left hand panel, next too the door, and just next to the bonnet. – These were there, and passed a previous roadworthy certificate last year. Boot is rather large, and doesn’t have any leaks into it. The registration has just expired, as of the 24th of October 2009, and hasn’t been re-registered, as there is no point. Car is not coming with a road-worthy certificate, and is being sold as is. Current number-plates will be taken off the car prior to pick-up (Not coming with the car) Please note: Buyer/ Winning bidder will need to pick the car up within the next week or so, as my rent contract is up, and I’m moving into the city. You will need to get your own means of transport for moving the car – Tow-truck or a trailer from BP, I believe they are $40 -$60 a day to use, an 8 hr day. Car comes with a new battery; I will charge it up so you can see what the car dose, when trying to start it (Just turns over, but doesn’t start) It’s best if you get a mechanic to come out, to tell you exactly what will need replacing and have a good look over the entire car. I will only accept cash on pick-up. If you have any questions, or would like to know of anything that I may have left out, feel free to contact me using the Contact seller form, above.
