How To Deal With a Horse
Patricia Stillwagon

With her tongue in cheek captions and off beat cartoons, much is revealed the horse that is worth knowing. the first revelation is just what kind of animal the horse is; faithful, concerned, honest, but a cheater a poker. He is also clean in thought, word and deed - or so he would have you believe.
Serious matters are considered here as serious, but the presentation makes you chuckle. If you are determined to buy a horse, you can not rely alone on revelation or inspiration in taking care of him. You must be practical and learn how best to maintain him, learning how and how not to treat him - from the ground up. Hoof care is important, as are feeding and the availability of a Vet.
All in all, the simplicity, frankness, good sense and down to earth humour make this book very appealing to every age from those that scribble in books to those who need a magnifying glass.

Seneca is the perfect horse. He is friendly and hansome; he's fun and full of spirit. And when the young narrator meets him, she knows at once that he is the horse for her.
There are many chores to be done: grooming, feeding, cleaning. But having your own horse also means galloping in fields, splashing in creeks, jumping logs and sharing tranquil rides through the woods.
Warm, beautiful watercolours and a delightful text make Seneca the next best thing to owning a horse of your own.
