How To BLITZ

Samantha Coates is a professional pianist and teacher with more than 15 years' experience in both private and group tuition. She attended the Conservatorium High School in Sydney before completing her Bachelor of Music degree at the NSW Conservatorium, majoring in piano performance.

Samantha has had extensive experience as a solo performer and accompanist. She has also enjoyed arranging band music in her role as Musical Director of university revues, and has been rehearsal pianist for several opera companies and musical societies.

Samantha is a senior staff member at Australian Music Schools, where she served as head teacher for a number of years and now specialises in theory and musicianship teaching. The "Blitz" series is written in a fun and conversational style, based on Samantha's practical experience of engaging her young students' interest and enthusiasm for theory and musicianship. As well as making music fun, the books serve to better prepare students for the many ways in which exam questions might be presented.
