How to Make Your Own
CANE FURNITURE
Max and Charlotte
Alth
CANE FURNITURE is constructed
mainly from rattan, the trunk of the
climbing palms that grow in the jung-
les and swamps of Borneo, Sumatra,
Malaysia and the Philippines. Once
the bark and thorns are removed we
are left with the familiar hard and
shiny rattan cane.
It is not difficult to master the few
secrets of this remarkable material
and you will find it easy to make the
rattan cane work for you.
You can bend and shape this woodlike sub-
stance into graceful curves or angles
to construct almost any piece of furni-
ture you desire.
There are 10 projects, fully illus-
trated, and a design section to help
you create the style to suit your own
taste and surrounding decor.
Cane furniture goes equally well from the
simplest to the most elegant of
decorating schemes;
it is attractive, sturdy and durable.
It looks fabulous on the garden lawn or patio;
it makes wonderful dining-room furniture
and
easy-to-relax-on settees and loungers.
Commercially-made cane furniture
can cost a great deal of money for
relatively simple pieces and here is the
ideal opportunity to make your own.
Suppliers of rattan cane and other
materials are listed in the book along
with all the step-by-step information
needed to succeed.

2 Useful Tips for ALL Ebayers:
1: SEARCHING? Standard Ebay searches do NOT offer items in 'Ebay Stores', unless there are very few auction listings that can be offered. I have sometimes searched stores and paid around HALF of the best available price in auction listings.
"Quick-moving" items will be found in auctions, but harder to find items, which may require several listings before sale, are at least as likely to appear in STORE listings, where listings cost the seller around 20% of the cost to list, and run for triple the time. Please feel free to view my store items, too!
To do so, go to 'View Seller's other items' in the panel at the top right of this listing.
Combined shipping for multiple purchases saves, also!
2: BIDDING? KEEP YOUR OPTIONS OPEN! When an Ebay item offers 'Buy It Now', you can prevent other bidders from 'stealing' the auction before you bid by placing a LOW bid. BUT!, of course, they may later outbid you and /or you may keep bidding, and ultimately pay MORE than the original 'Buy It Now' price. Tactics play a part in any auction; good luck with any bids. OR you can of course close the auction immediately, in your favour, by pressing the 'Buy It Now" button, instead of typing in your $$ bid.
Buyers within Australia may care to note that multiple purchases, when combined weight is up to 3kg, can be packed and shipped in an Aus Post satchel for $11.80 !!)
BUYERS PLEASE NOTE, also, that it is expected that PAYMENT is made within FIVE DAYS unless an arrangement has been made with us prior to bidding. For example, if you anticipate bidding on another of our listed items.
If NO CONTACT has been made in this time, in fairness to other Ebay users, Ebay will be notified that you have defaulted. Please DO NOT bid if you cannot meet these fair and simple requirements.
Should an unforseen difficulty arise, then PLEASE LET US KNOW. We are very understanding. But, of course, we are not mind, readers. Thank you for your interest. Good luck if you bid!
