Looking for some Christmas decorations that are away from the norm? Make your christmas tree uniquely beautiful with this traditional beaded egg made by the Huichol Indians of Northwest Mexico.

This is a traditional piece we purchased on our travels in Mexico. The Huichols are peyote cactus people who create their artwork through visions and experience of ceremony celebrating the earths elements. These arts are entirely unique to these people and this area of the world.

The egg is approx 7.5 cm high and as you can see it is a stunning piece. To create this piece, the egg is covered in beeswax and then each bead is placed painstakingly on bead by bead with no pre-conceived design which is amazing considering the spectacular result.

These items are fragile and SADLY this one has two finger indents either side where an exited shopper grabbed it a little too hard. Either that or that just wanted to see if it would crush, and they will if not treated kindly.Luckily the damage does not affect the stunning nature of this piece but we cannot sell it at full price.

All our huichol bead and yarn work was bought from a specific family in Mexico: Andreas Callilo Bautista and his family. We viewed their work, and especially that of Andreas and his sons, to be some of the mostfinely detailed Huichol artwork we have seen to date. Know that in purchasing this item it is authentic and the money goes back directly to the native people of northwest Mexico.This item was purchased direct from the artist. We always pay full price for the artwork and do not bargain.

All problems can be sorted out simply with communication between the buyer and seller. Payment via direct debit is preferred but all payment methods are accepted!

Shipping:

We are always happy to combine shipping costs on multiple items and to post internationally. Please contact us when you have completed your purchases to get your postage discount. All our items are shipped via Australia post usually with 24hrs of receiving payment. Where possible, all our items are shipping in recycled bubble wrap, post packs and envelopes. This saves you money on packaging charges and is great for the environment. Never do we skimp on packaging though. All items are packaged with the utmost care to ensure they arrive to you in good order.
