Movie description
Despite his undeniable success as a heart surgeon, Dorian Shanley has a strong self-destructive streak. Unable to control himself when it comes to reckless drinking, drugs, and sex, Dorian even puts his career at risk by stealing pharmaceuticals from the hospital where he works. Clearly out of control, Dorian must get help or watch everything he's worked so hard for go down the drain in the name of addiction.

In this gritty and riveting drama, Dorian Shanley (Kirk Harris, Hard Luck, My Sweet Killer) plays a young, charismatic heart surgeon with a dark side-he has an insatiable appetite for booze, drugs, and one-night stands. Though brilliant in the operating room, he violates the ethics of his profession by stealing pharmaceuticals which he exchanges for cocaine with his friend and a dealer, Teddy (Eric Roberts, Pope of Greenwich Village, Heaven's Prisoners). The good doctor's downward spiral is further fueled by the ongoing loss of his father (John Savage, The Thin Red Line, The Deer Hunter) to Alzheimer's and his misdirected love for his girlfriend's grieving college pal, Anna (Camilla Overbye Ross, Titanic). As he stumbles his way through a maze of binges into the heart of addiction, the path back to reality becomes increasingly blurred. It's a gripping portrayal of one man's self-destruction in the stark and heartbreaking tradition of Leaving Las Vegas.
