This is a very powerful unit - unlike smaller units, it will solder 6mm / 8mm solder.  Many of our auto electrician customers have found the unit ideal for soldering alternator cables in the field (particularly on Commodores) as well as starter brushes.  Smaller units lack the necessary power for these functions.
