I recently bought an ISOkinetik cartridge stabiliser for a Denon 103

cartridge. The package arrived within a couple of days even superglue was supplied, which

surprised me. I took care to line up the stabiliser accurately. I left

it a few minutes for the glue to set up. Once I was happy it was stuck

fast I fitted it to my modified RB250. The supplied bolts fitted the

tapped threads in the stabiliser perfectly and it was very easy to fit

to the headshell. It's worth the price alone just to be able to fit a

103 without having to negotiate the open sided lugs! If it had made no

difference to the sound I'd still have been very happy.

But it did make a large difference to the sound. The bass of a 103 is

not the tightest around, there's plenty of it but it can get a bit fat.

With the stabiliser it has tightened up considerably. Stand-up bass now

has far better leading edge to it. The shape and size of each note is

much easier to pick out. Drums are affected in the same way - the

amount of pressure the drummer uses is more obvious for example. The

top end has opened up as well making cymbals far crisper and metallic.

Tracking stability also seems to have improved, I track my 103 at a

shade over the recommended at about 2.55/2.6 grams and it gets through

all my usual torture tracks better than before.

I can thoroughly recommend the ISOkinetik cartridge stabiliser to anyone

with a Denon 103 or variant. And I see no reason why it can't be used

with many other cartridges.

It's refreshing to see a company selling their wares at honest prices -

not all that common in this industry!
