Steve Vai 7-String Signature Electric Guitar

This is a guitar that one of our teachers has had since mid 2006 but, in the last year hasn't been touched and has just sat in it's case so he's decided to regretfully part ways with it. The guitar is the black Steve Vai signature series 7 string with the mirror scratch plate, abalone disappearing pyramid fret marker inlays and the 'light without heat' pyramid logo just under the bridge. The guitar was used a lot from may 2006 to august 2006 for covers work, and then from october 2007 to march 2008 for original work. In between it was used for either teaching or as just a play at home guitar but hasn't really been touched at all since march 2008 except for at home maybe once or twice. The guitar itself has a few scratches on the body, all small and only visible in light, the obvious scratches on the back from clothes and belts but these are mainly on the plate that cover the springs, with a small chip in the paintwork on one edge (see photos). The hardware has sustained hardly any rust and the scratches on the guitar are just from regular gigging, the guitar has always been kept in it's case and has never been dropped or mistreated.

The guitar itself is amazing and very versatile. It was used for covers work, metal and rock bands. Has more of a rock sound compared to the Jem and is a dream to play. It is currently set up with 9 to 46 gauge strings with a 56 for the low B and has a low action so is ideal for metal and shred etc. At the moment it is in need of a set up but this is something we will get done for it before it is purchased. Just let my know what gauge and tuning you want it set up to and we will take care of it. This is a regretful sale but have decided to sell it to buy more music equipment and to cover some recording costs, as mentioned, the guitar has just been sitting in it's case for the past year collecting dust.

 

Recommended Retail Price on these guitars new is $5695 , but this one is going fo $2499 with original a case.
