Icom IC-02AT 144 MHz FM Handheld Transceiver,Ham Radio?

Up For Auction…is this used, Vintage Icom IC-02AT 144 MHz FM Handheld Transceiver. Dont know too much about this type of electronics....This unit comes with exactly what you see in the pictures. The original box is also included (not in the pictures). This unit powers up fine with a 12 volt DC adapter which can be purchased at any good electronics store.. I could hear plenty of static/reception, but did not hear anybody talking... Perhaps it was because I was indoors using the metal whip antenna, or perhaps i was just on the wrong channel...Not sure...I could not tell what channel I was on or what frequency I was on because there appears to be a issue with the LCD readout...Nor do I know if this unit transmits or not. I push the button on the side, and all the static stops, but i cant tell if I am transmitting or not. That is the extent of my testing.. So this radio is being SOLD AS IS, WORKING OR NOT. Also, I dont know how to scan channels..These things are too technical for me. That is the extent of my testing, which is pretty limited, due to the equipment that I have...Unit could use a clean up around the buttons... Unit still that the plastic from the factory around the buttons (see pictures). Once the plastic is taken off, the face should be pretty clean in my opinion. There are some minor scratches here and there on the front of the unit and the back of the unit. Unit comes with a battery pack, but not sure if it holds a charge, since I do not have the charging cord or adapter. This unit comes with a model MFJ metal whip antenna which is in very good condition for its age..It is almost 100 % straight. The tip has a slight bend in it, but really isnt bad in my opinion.. Also included is a belt clip, and a hand strap which is allready mounted on the unit. This unit and all its components was purchased at a Estate Sale, and the 80 yr old ham operator had this item connected sitting on his desk...All his equipment appeared to be functional, and he said that all his equipment was in working condition, but I personally can not be 100% sure with that statement he made.. But he did seem pretty sincere...So This item Is what it is. What you see in the pictures is what you get. (plus the original box)…All Sales Are Final… Items are SOLD AS IS IN AS IS CONDITION..
