The subject matter of this book pertains specifically to the game as well as
ways to consistantly achieve the best play in yourself and your partner on
the doubles court.
At club level, doubles is probably the most popular form of tennis played
today.  Although many are playing the game, few really understand and play
doubles as the separate game it is.  This presents a definite advantage for
those who learn more about and come to understand doubles as a unique
game.
The secret to successful doubles has been thought by some to simply be,
"find a great partner"!  There is, however, more to this game than pairing
with a brilliant player to carry you to this game than pairing with a brilliant
player to carry you in the matches you play.  A partnership must be develop-
ed between two with a common understanding and working relationship.
Two minds must be able to come together as one as two personalities which
show mutual respect and trust.  Movement, positioning, shot selection, strate-
gies, etc.  A wider range of strokes than normally called for in a game of
singles is required.
  This book explains the use of these strokes and discusses
control of each.  It also teaches ways to take control of your opponents, the
matches you play, and yourself on the doubles court.  It is intended to help
you and your partner develop the mental edge and a better strategic under-
standing of the game of doubles so you can play consistantly!
