Iris foetedissima variegata
A WONDERFUL IRIS FOR MASS PLANTING AND LANDSCAPING
A beautiful foliaged Iris that i use allot for landscaping ,so useful for that hard to use area where there is allot of shade or a dry area in the garden. This Iris looks beautiful planted under evergreen/deciduous trees and will even grow under cypress's and Eucalyptus trees where so many other plants struggle.
This Iris is evergreen so you get beautiful foliage all year round ,flowers are produced in late spring early summer but are insignificant i find. You grow this Iris for its wonderful variegated foliage in the colors green and cream.
A very flexible plant that will grow in poor soil and looks lovely planted in a pot especially a black glazed one .Once established it is a medium grower forming clumps 60cms x 60 cms with very little maintenance required .This Iris will grow in full sun ,part shade and heavy shade i have found and to look its best a well drained soil is required .It is Frost /Drought tolerant and pest resistant i find and the occasional dead head of old leaves is generally all the maintenance i perform .
Overall a beautiful Iris that isn't really commercial available due to its poor flowering capabilities i presume .
You are bidding on 5 LARGE divisions from this Iris that will be packed in moss for you .
