We have for auction a Jaguar series 1 XJ6 body. There is a long story about this car and I will keep it as short as I can. Firstly let me say that I am selling this for a friend and being a classic car lover myself could not let this car (or what's left of it ) rust away. The car was purchased many years ago ( last reg 1979) in good condition to be rebuilt as a high performance vehicle.The car got pulled apart and many parts put in storage. The body was stripped back and repainted in I think Old English white. Now the owner was not happy with the paint job (A real fussy type I guess) so he got them to repaint it again untill he was happy with it. Total cost of all this paintwork would you believe $11.000.00 The car by the way is a Factory delivered manual gear box model. While all this is going on the car has been kept in a factory unit (owned by a family member) out of the rain etc never seeing daylight. Over the years interest in continuing with the project faded and the car just sat there for many years safe and sound under cover. So a few months ago the owner of the factory unit said it had to go and the body was put around the back of the premises under a tarp with parts on pallets covered with plastic sheets. So to cut a long story short we have a Series 1 XJ6 body (painted twice) in great condition with some dashboard and mechanical parts still attached. I have not been able to see any rust in the sills or around the windows etc and the body looks to be straight.The marks you see on the paint are from the recent red dust storm we had. I think this is a great opportunity for someone who needs a good series 1 body for a rebuild. There is a Manual gear box and many good parts too many to list here that will be sold seperatly by negotiation. This listing is for the body front and rear suspension only. I have to the best of my ability described every thing as accurately as I can. I recommend interested parties inspect prior to bidding as the final price is final with NO REFUNDS.
