TRULY PRESTIGIOUS CLASSIC CAR V12 COUPE
The XJS Jaguar history;
On the 10th September 1975 the Jaguar XJS was launched to such advertising slogans as today is a "Black day for Modena, Stuttgart and Turin", in reality it is fair to say that the XJS hardly took the world by storm upon its launch, a 5.3 ltr V12 in a fuel crisis, styling that was considered very unusual, especially on a Jaguar and initial poor build quality all took their toll on the XJS. It was never going to be an easy job following on from the Legndary Jaguar E-type. However, with subtle re-engineering and styling changes over it's 21 year production run the XJS has become a well respected member of the Jaguar Sporting tradition.
Jaguar's timing was not good; the car was launched in the wake of a fuel crisis, and the market for a 5.3 litre V12 grand tourer was very small. The styling was also the subject of criticism, including the "flying buttresses" behind the windows.Having been in production for over 20 years, the XJS today can vary in price from a few thousand dollars circa $7000–$11000 for an older coupe, in average to good condition to over $20,000+ in excelent condition depending on year and condition ,circa $38,000+ for a late V-12 Convertible. In the United States, the coupes can be had in rough shape on a regular basis for $800 - $1,000 and convertibles bring anywhere from $4,000 - $15,000 depending on year and condition. In the UK the sweet spot of the market is often considered by enthusiasts to be the mid-1980s coupes. The rare 6.0 litre cars usually command a premium price in the US market with a 6.0 litre After a 21 year production run and over 100,000 cars sold the XJS is replaced by the all new Jaguar XK8.
The Story Behind ALL JAG :Hi to ALL JAG lovers out there this particular Jaguar of mine was aquired from a wealthy businessman a few years ago he used the car as hi every day driver the car has done mostly high - way km's he would drive it to lakes entrance where he spent a lot time on vacations and many business trips for work conferences to Queensland,Sydney and all over Australia.He then purchased a BMW (I dont know why anyone would do that ???) for which he used for most of his trips this jaguar was used very little after 2006 it was always regulary serviced and maintained but of course knowing about jaguars espescially the V12 they need to be driven on a regular basis.
As he was not doing this he then thought to sell the Jaguar coupe which is how I come accross it.I had been searching for many many long years to come across the right car well maintained good service history great body and interior mechaniclly and structually sound but best of all NO RUST what so ever. In the few short years i have owned this car have kept it serviced and well maintained as you can see for yourself in this time i have replaced the battery with a 13 plate heavy duty so it will turn over the huge 5.3 ltr V12 engine,transmission solenoid,fully overhauled wiper motor,serviced and regassed air conditioning,new rear brake pads,reconditioned alternator and regulator,tuned engine 12 plugs ingectors, filters and ,full detail and professionally polished and waxed, etc etc.If you look after a car it generally serves you well ,i have spent thousands of $$$$$ but every time i drive it its rewarding the ride comfort security of being safe in a luxuary and prestigious car.
Yes it does turn quite a lot of heads.The standard issue of wheels and tyres are pictured and they have been well looked after which are genuine wheels and tyres. The tyres which have 95% tread,the windows have been tinted with the darkest legal film as not to let UV rays damage interior which is burgandy leather in very good condition for its age there is little bit of stitching come apart on passenger seat about 3-4 cms all wood work is in excellent condition.
The jaguar XJS had the same equipment level as any other sports model year cars of same year and, with an original invoice price of some $220,000 plus on road costs, there were very few of these spectacular series XJS coupe built for Australia.Finished in gleaming White with burgundy leather and timber walnut veneers with, this is a very attractive vehicle.Its appeal is further enhanced by some upgrades carried out whilst i have owned this car the fiting of an extremely high quality Pioneer AM/FM /CD player with remote control.Couple this to the XJS extremely high standard equipment level that includes, electric windows and mirrors, power seats with drivers position memory, climate control air conditioning, remote central door locking, and a electronic trip computer, and you have a sensational vehicle.
The car will come with NO RWC or warranties unless otherwise agreed upon in writing as to costs and payment of stamp duty and transfers same for personalised plates.There is absolutely no warranty, either statutory or otherwise.This car is being sold as inspected i own car outright there is NO finance or any money owing on car what so ever. Current Victorian registration may be retained by purchaser however RWC and transfer of such shall be their responsibility unless otherwise stated. The current personalised plates ALL-JAG will be replaced with standard issue Victorian plates prior to sale,unless you wish to purchase plates,with car the price is $1500.00 on top of purchase price of XJS Jaguar Coupe unless otherwise stated in writing and agreed by both parties.
Now some 21 years old, it is my opinion that this is a very good, useable example of Jaguars most affordable modern coupe. Its overall condition and presentation belies its age and its specification makes it a very desirable vehicle.
