Description: Original Hand coloured collography print - Artist Proof- 'Blue' signed and dated in pencil by the artist.(unframed) Medium: Pigmented inks on Copper plate printmaking paper.
The art of collography was invented during the early part of the 20th century. This revolutionary technique involved a rigid surface collaged with materials which is inked with pigment and used to print onto paper or another material using a printing press.

"Free Spirit" : Here I used a foam board and etched into it with screws, toy cars, knifes, paint lids, and other bit and pieces. I also embossed the surface with some fishing mesh. I collaged the foam board with, Zincit Kill Rust Spray, Car etch Primer filler spray, Car etch gloss spray, tapes, gold star stickers. I also burnt the surface with fire.
The surface is inked with pigment and polished, and using a printing press the ink is transferred to paper.
About the Artist
Hailing originally from Perth, Jet James has become a recognisable figure in the arts industry. His birth to an artist father and model mother, who had close links to the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Burdon and Michael Hutchence, seem like fitting beginnings for Jet’s career in the spotlight.
Tragically, Jet lost both his parents in separate accidents at a very young age. The time that ensued led to periods of isolation in some of the most remote areas of Australia where he studied via the School of the Air. These times of solitude saw him throwing himself into his art and honing his skills through the mass of work he produced, while also allowing his own style to develop with the lack of outside influence. By the age of 16, Jet was left to complete his secondary schooling on his own. He worked and even managed to sell some paintings while putting himself through high school, even though at times he was, by definition, homeless. After completing year 12, Jet travelled to sunny Central Queensland and commenced study in Visual Art. Since completion he has won prestigious awards, exhibited regularly and sold work directly and internationally via online marketing.
