The Torch is Passed. Hard cover with dust jacket. 13 x 10 inches. Book itself in near mint condition except for inscription on cover page which marks it as a birthday gift in Feb, 1965. Some wear on dust jacket. This rare book is the Associated Press's definitive account of the assasination and burial of President John F Kennedy. No date of publication apparent but the book was initially published in 1964. This could well be a first edition given there is no note anywhere of it being a reprint. This book published by Paul Hamlyn Ltd. London. It includes about 100 mostly black and white photographs but also a few full colour, full page plates. It documents the days Nov 22, 1963, the day of the assasination, to Nov 25, the day of Kennedy's burial. An important contemporary account of the death of a president.
