This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Best Model of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Best Model item number 9240.

In 1962 Peter Sargent entered his Jaguar E Type Coupe in the Le Mans 24 Hour race. He co-drove with Peter Lumsden and they finished very strongly, fifth outright and second in the four litre GT class behin dthe similar car of Briggs Cunningham.

This model features accurate wheels with knock off hubs and correct profile race tyres. The body is nicely modelled and captures the shape and stance of the original car perfectly. It features photo etched windscreen wipers and plated door handles. It is finished in authentic colours and carries all the correct race logos and decals. The underside is also nicely finished with some chassis details and full exhaust system represented.

The interior features steering wheel, detailed dashboard and instruments, race seats and gearshift.

Best Model items come mounted on a black plastic plinth in a clear plastic display box with outer cardboard window box. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging.

Best Model is a long established Italian maker of detailed scale models in 1:43 scale.  All items are well researched and produced with meticulous attention to detail and a high level of finish.  Their range covers classic sports racing and road cars from the Forties to the late seventies.  They are part of the M4 group who also produce Art Model and Rio. 

These models collectors items and are not toys.  They are made in diecast metal with many other materials included for detailing, such as plastics, rubber and fine photo etchings on most items.
