Presented here for your consideration is a pristine John Campbell Fan Vase drip glazed in what is almost a majolica glaze. The base glaze appears to be a deep blue with cream green and amber over the top streaked over the top, a truly magnificent combination with delightful flairs.

It is the hand inscribed to the base “ John Campbell, Tasmania”. This maker’s mark was in use from 1933 until 1947 and was reserved for Art Ware.

  • Dimensions

This classically shaped Fan vase measures 16.5 cm (6.5”) across its mouth and it strides in at an impressive 14 cm (5.5”) tall.

  • Condition

It is in AS NEW condition; with no chips, cracks, stains or repairs and NO crazing. If one wants to be really picky there are a couple of grind marks on the base where excess glaze was removed at the time of production.

This looks like it came out of the John Campbell factory only yesterday and not the best part of 80 years ago. This is a magical Campbell vase - from the shape to the colour – this is a real prize.
